Rattle inside the passenger valve cover towards the firewall. I don't have the money to overhaul my engine but my friend has a 335i from an 05 BMW. Would it interchange with my car?

No, not even close. Nothing but the exact same engine will fit.

The problem is the camshaft chain actuator located at the rear of the valve cover. They actually aren't that expensive and can be replace without a major overhaul.
