How difficult is it to change timing belt on a tdi deisel 1.8 liter I used to be a mechanic back in the carbeurator & distributor days but never before on a deisel

The special tools alone for this job will run over $300 so if you don't already have them, it wouldn't be worth purchasing them for one job.
