Ok so I'm new to this vehicle and I've owned it for about 6 months now. I own a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T and I brought it to O"Reilly for a diagnostic check cause my engine light was flashing every time I accelerated around mid high point. When I did this my car started to sputter. The guy said cylinder 4 was misfiring. I did some research on the internet and apparently this was very common on my type of vehicle and what I needed to do was to buy a new coil ignition. And I did. However what I didn't know was which coil ignition I was to remove. I'm assuming it's the one 2nd starting to the left cause it was jammed. Anyhow when I tugged on the coil it was stuck and so I pulled harder and ended up pulling only half of the ignition coil out leaving the metal peice on the bottom stuck. My question is... WHAT DO I DO??? And am I removing the right ignition coil?

I know this is an old post, but for others reading this...

On the 1.8T, the #4 coil is the right most from the drive belts.

Coil on plug (COP) ignition systems do not have spark plug wires.
