my windshield wipers are freaking out

mY 2002 VW BEETLE WIPERS WORK SOMETIMES , SOMETIMES STOP MID WINDSHIELD, SOMETIMES WONT CUT OFF COULD IT BE THE RELAY IF SO WHICH ONE AND WHERE IS IT LOCATED my wipers after theyve been on a while will stop just whereever they want to and then after 20secs i can move the wiper arm and they work for about 30sec then stop and i have to repeat the process could it be the relay if so which one and where is it located

could be a bad ground to motor assembly or an internal motor assembly fault.

thanks do you know where the relay is located in case i need to check it too i cant find and diagrams online to tell me where its located and if there is more than one relay
