Maybe one of the silliest situations I've seen on this great forum. Was replacing the PCV valve on my 2002 Avalon. The fitting broke off as I was trying to remove it. Every time I tried to grab what was left with pliers, a piece broke off. Long story short, I almost had it out (kind of mangled) when it slipped and fell all the way in the dam hole.....and about 2 inches to the right. I suppose I could try and move it back over under the hole with a strong vacuum but my questions are:
Does it matter if I just left it in there where it is? It is to the side and the new one will easily fit like it should.
Also, was there a grommet holding it in. Was kind of brittle so I'm not 100% sure if what I think was a grommet was really part of the PCV valve.
