hose by water pump is cold i changed the thermostat hose is still cold

when it leaks or you have overheating issues with no circulation.
did the car overheat??

its not leaking but i look in radiator with cap off and there is no circulation

dont mean to sound dumb but how will i know when it opens does the hose by pump the get hot?

both hoses will be hot. it may be a bad thermostat or it may just need a long time to open.
