Heater on and off of its own accord

I have a seat cordoba 2001 diesel 1.9 tdi. My problem is on the lcd display heating and fan display keeps going on and off intermittently the heater and fan will work then stop then comes on then off without touching anything. #

Took off panel cant find anything wrong cant get no books etc to help me hoping someon out there can help please.
