2002 Saturn L100 temperature gage bounces around

when i turn my car on or even drive it, the temperature gage bounces around and says my car is overheating when my car isnt overheating. i dont know what the problem could be. also, my car is now leaking gas, so there is something wrong and i dont know what to do or what is wrong with it.

Is the fuel leak in the rear by the gas tank?Also the temp gauge goes up and bounces around as soon as you turn the car on and the engine is cold?

yes the fuel leak is right by the back passenger side under neath, and the temperature gage started when you start the car.

The fuel leak is most likely the nipple right off the fuel pump module leaking pretty common on those. I would check the temp sending unit do you have any codes in the computer?

yeah, i have gotten codes from a computer and also reset all them to when i changed the thermostat

The p0113 is for a skewed coolant temp sensor or inlet air temp from the temp gauge bouncing around the coolant temp sensor signal is unstable due to a bad sensor or a bad connection or wires.the p0480 is for the fan relay circuit.Do the cooling fans ever stay on for no reason?

Are the fans staying on with the key off and killing the battery?Those cars have issues with the cooling fan relay module going bad and the fans run and kill the battery with the key off.

Have you checked the wiring and connector to the coolant temp sensor?
