unhooked the egr to exhaust pipe and i have plenty of power

I put new headgaskets on a 2002 pontiac grand prix and now it has no power. I unhooked the egr to exhaust pipe and i have plenty of power ,what could the problem be?

I have no power until i unhook egr valve exhaustline to exhaust pipe
