how much should a head gasket repair cost on a peugeot 206 1.1?

We are often asked this question, but unfortunately there is no way of determining the exact cost until the head is removed and tested, it is not just a case of replacing a gasket and off you go...., the head may be cracked, warped or bent, and often with this after straightening you may get a cracked valve seat that need replacing, as a rule hear o/hauls can start at around $1200, not that AU as i am in Australia, so it is a sizable repair so be prepared for the worst and it it's not that bad, you are in front.
