I just bought this car and got a really great deal, but with the mileage and all it's giving me a little trouble. Whenever I go to accelerate on interstate the car shutters. I then have to let off the gas and play with the pedal until it finally stops. Do you think that is an o2 sensor? I don't know anything about cars, but everything works pretty good except the shuttering and there is sort of a whining sound as accelerating as well. PLEASE HELP

This is definitely not an oxygen sensor problem. The Engine Computer just fine tunes the fuel / air mixture based on its readings. The first thing you have to do is determine if this is being caused by an engine misfire or a drive line vibration. Worn or tight universal joints can cause a shudder, especially under load or during acceleration. A misfire can cause the same thing. For that, start with the basics, spark plugs, wires, and ignition coil. If those don't solve a misfire, there's most likely a reason you got a good deal.

Oh goodness! lol well the spark plugs and wires are getting replaced this weekend and I'm having a code reader put on it this evening. I really hope it's not too big! Thanks for your help!
