Question is about my clutch/ transmission if there is anything I can do to get my transmission to stop shifting so stiff? I had my clutch/slave cylinder replaced recently on my 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. When i first picked it up it worked beautifully but within a weak it broke down because of a leave in the clutch line. I had it towed back to the shop I had the work done and had it fixed but have been having problems with it since then. When it is cold (below 40 degrees) first thing in the morning the shifting is very stiff. Especially when I am trying to down shift into 1st and 2nd gear. I have to slow the car way down in order to "baby" it into gear.
I have taken it back to the mechanic to ask what to do and after a 30 minute drive over there the car is warmed up enough there isn't much of a problem. I had it looked at by another mechanic and he said just by driving it there didn't seem to be any problem. But I think by the time they test drove it it was mid day and had warmed up to about 60 degrees. I have this problem and don't know if there is anything I can do to fix it. If anybody can help and send some advise my way I'd appreciate it!
