The AT model does not use relay neutral safety switch on transaxle prohibits starter operation when not in neutral or park. What's going on no crank , clicks ?
Do you have a DVOM and test light?

Make sure battery terminals are clean and tight. If problem continues maybe starter solenoid with dead spot.

Where is the starter relay located on a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse V6 w/ automatic transmission? Trying to locate the starter relay. I would like to tap into the power there or another location that might be easier to get to. I am just measuring the voltage with an op amp so there will be nearly no current consumption from the circuit to worry about. I'm just looking for the easiest start circuit I can find.

Electrical problem
2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse 6 cyl Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have recently replaced the started becuase i had checked both the battery and relay and they were both fine. I drove one place and back. Went to go somewhere else and would not start. Figure it has to be the relay somehow. Could it be anything else? I did notice that my car when i would stop at a light was not idleing properly and did die once or twice

Hi christy123,

The idling and starter are two different problems.

For the idling, get the throttle body cleaned and it should be ok.

For the starter, if it won't crank, check for power to starter solenoid with ignition in cranked position.
If there is supply, you need to check the starter again.
If no power supply, check ignition to starter output power, if there is power, check relay for power supply.
If no power out, the ignition switch is faulty.

Check if the gear shift drive position lights are working, if not it might be the inhibitor switch at the trans that is faulty.
