Yesterday morning I went to start my Mountaineer I had a little issues with it turning over. Cold morning. But it eventually did start. But a loud ticking noise began and has not calmed. It's a constant tick that gets louder when accelerating or applying the accelerater in park. Sort of follows the RPMs, softer at an idle and in gear, louder as it revs up. Just changed the oil two weekends ago and there's plenty in it, so I am not leaning toward a lifter issue. No engine or oil warning lights on. Exhaust leak? But I'm thinking I should redo the oil and use something better than the Walmart brand and see if this inexpensive repair may be the issue. Any insight into this issue is appreciated. Thanks.
