my mechanic just replaced the oil pump and screen. also the entire timing kit. he cleaned the oil return ports.now the oil gage is going nuts, which I figure it is the sending unit. but I still have a knock in the engine (sometimes). when I shut off the engine and start it right back up the gage works and the knock is gone. any thoughts on the possible cause?
