I need to replace the right gas tank strap on a 2002 Mercury Cougar. I was wondering how to loosen the left strap to allow me to to lower the gas tank.
I was able to remove the bolt holding the damaged right strap in place. I was wondering how I can lower the gas tank to allow me to replace the strap. A heat shield for the exhaust appears to be in the way of the bolt for the other strap.
