When I shift I feel the engine jerk and then the car begins to move?

Car shifts hard from P to D5. When i shift i feel the engine jerk and then the car begins to move. E code came up for one second while driving up a steep hill. v6 3.0 L engine Wondering if it is solenoid pack. The car shifts fine when driving there is no limit to speed and i dont do not have to have high rpm to shift in drive.

Just to be sure I understand what the issue is, when you shift it into gear, there is a harsh engagement and then it moves and shifts just fine?

If this is the case, I suspect we have a motor mount issue.

Lift the hood and shift the engine and see if it moves when you are shifting.
