get a loud knock or rattle on acceleration. stops when I take foot of gas. sounds like diesel engine. getting louder with time. seems worse closer to oil change time but don't know if that's related. gets quitter when I lay on gas but still there

Is the knock coming from the engine? Is the engine oil clean and full?

yes its the engine and sound happens even right after an oil change

Okay, my not being there to hear the noise makes it hard for me to diagnose the problem. It takes a trained ear to recognize different sounds. It could be a rod bearing, main bearing, cam bearing... the list goes on. Because I am not there, I have to recommend that you let a tech hear it and tell you what it is coming from. They shouldn't charge you because it will only take a minute to tell.

Once you find out, let me know and I can hopefully give you some options.
