Evap Vent Solenoid

The duty cycle evaporative (EVAP) canister purge solenoid is located in the engine compartment near the brake master cylinder.

Disconnect electrical connector at solenoid.
Disconnect vacuum lines at solenoid.
Lift solenoid slot from mounting bracket for removal.

LDP and evap vent valve are located in the wheel well below filler neck

Pepboys said it is not the Purge solenoid. They said it is the Evap Vent Solenoid. thanks

I've looked thru your emission evaporative control system components in alldata pro version and there's none listed-could be a combo Evap/Purge solenoid as indicated above-

Is the evap vent valve the same thing as the purge solenoid?

I have a 2002 grand cherokee that was having problems starting. It would start up in the morning but when you ran it and turned it off for 5 min you had to crank it and turn off the key and turn the key on and it would start . I brought it into the dealer and they said the fuel check valve outside the gas tank is bad. The gas is running back into the tank when the engine is turned off . They replaced it but they said that didnt help as now they think the fuel check valve in the gas pump in the tank is bad and now they have to pull the tank and replace the pump. They said the fuel check valve outside the tank should have acted as a backup for the fuel check valve in the tank as this was the way it was designed but for some reason it is not working. They said 2002 is the only year grandcherokee that has this feature . I would think if the fuel system had 2 check valves one should have worked. That was the whole idea for it. Are they telling me the truth? This job is going to cost me almost $900 before its done. Could there be another problem? Fuel pressure regulator perhaps? Also they said the fuel pump output wasnt as high as it should be.

Without doing a fuel pressure test, and then crimping off the supply hose and then the return hose. There is no way for me diagnose the problem.

But diagnosing a fuel pressure problem isn't rocket science.
