How to replace sunroof motor..'02 x type

Roof Opening Panel Motor (86.76.01)

Removal



Remove the overhead console.
Detach the roof opening panel motor.








Remove the roof opening panel motor.
Disconnect the electrical connector.






Installation



CAUTION: If motor oscillation is detected, loosen the motor screws, operate the roof opening panel, then retighten the motor screws. If necessary repeat this procedure.
Synchronize the roof opening panel motor.



To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Tighten to 3 Nm.

Ok.thx..but stupid ?....how do you get the overhead console off??? Thx again:-)

remove the side panels next to the windshield on each side.
the ceiling panels are held up by clips. carefully pull till they release. if there are sunvisors, unbolt them and move them out of the way. this will give you acess to the sunroof area.

are you sure it needs a motor?? i hope someone checked it out as it is an expensive guess.

I have checked everything else it could be..got a motor for real cheap from a friend...thx
