the auto did not have a thermastat and ran fine but did nothave heat. my husband installed a thermastat and now it runs hot almost immediately. the fans work. what can it be?

running it without a thermostat may have damaged the motor. todays motors need and must have a thermostat. it is there for a reason.

have a leak down test done to see if the head gasket is damaged.
