where is the EVAP system purge valve located on the 2.4L engine. Was told at dealer it was behind intake manifold. I have looked all over and cannot find it. Car will not take fuel. Replaced charcoal canister & checked solenoid by canister. Purge valve is last piece.

Hello,

The evap solenoid is located and the bend of the intake manifold. Here is a diagram (below) that will how you where.

The evap canister purge solenoid solenoid on the engine isn't going to cause it to not take fuel when filling the tank. All it does is allow vacuum to be applied to evap system your vent valve controls the tanks vent by the gas tank. Are you sure thats not stuck closed?

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Which engine do you have?
The diagram is for a 2.4L engine. For 2.7L it is near top right side of of intake manifold, similar location.
When there is a code, replacing components might not solve the problem and you should test the solenoid first before replacing it as it might not be the cause.

Sonata V6 starts fine when car is cold and when car is at normal running temperature. It stalls a couple of times if you let it set for 15 - 20 minutes, but it eventually starts. Battery and purge control valve have been replaced. Fuel pressure (41 psi), fuel injectors and starter check out OK. What could be causing this?

Are there any trouble codes?
When it stalls, were you able to restart with pressure on the accelerator pedal?
