2002 Hyundai Elantra crankshaft position sensor

As I was driving down the road ... I pressed the gas a little and the car down shifted. It hit round 3 or 4 thousand rpm, then just cut off. I pulled over. Popped the hood and oil was everywhere. I let it cool down then took a good look. I noticed there was a hole in the block near the transmission. Then I seen the crankshaft position sensor just dangling in front of the engine. Also it looks like a rat has chewed on the end the goes in the block...

So I put a used sensor in it. And It wouldn't start. So then I bought some sort of replacement sensor from autozone( it didn't look the same ) but appears to be.. .. it still wouldn't start tho.. ..

you sure y ou didn't blow a rod to blow the sensor out of the motor, they ar e bolted in. have a local pro check this.
