my brake lights stayed on after exiting my vehicle for approx. 2 days. Naturally i drained my battery(boohoo) and car would not start. called AAA, the guy jump started my car and told me the brake light switch was bad. I went to my mechanic,he ordered me a new switch, went to install it and ran into a problem.he told me that the white tip of switch was going through the hole in the brake pedal instead of engaging the switch properly, hence the brake lights stayed on.he tried a 2nd switch, same thing. i then went to dealer myself, came back with basically the same switch and again the brake lights stayed on. i am now riding w/o brake light switch, ergo, no brake lights. that's no good. is there supposed to be a buffer preventing the tip of switch from going through the hole on the brake pedal?what's it called and where do i get it. And is there a diagram of what it looks like for proper installation?Thank you.
