temp gauge and gas gauge fluctuates

I have been having a problem with my van for the past 2 years when i'm driving down the road my temp gauge will go up and at the same time my gas gauge will go down, then eventually it will let loose and everything will go back to normal. it doesn't happen everyday or it may take 2 weeks for it to do it again. PLEASE HELP I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING IT!!

This sound like you have an intermittent open circuit in the instrument cluster. I would remove the cluster and open it up to see if you can detect a burnt spot in the circuit board. Here is a diagram to help you remove the cluster (below).

You might need a rebuilt cluster
