how would no lid on the coolant reservoir effect the car?

i have an 02 honda civic ex that is overheating. i was wondering if not having the lid to the coolant reservoir would effect that at all?

no, it is just a reserve tank with no pressure. what is your issue??

When the pressure builds up the coolant is gonna come out of the reservoir due to its not sealed -start by checking the thermostat

we've changed the thermostat and radiator. the car just over heats fast

Try bleeding the cooling system if it continues block and pressure test it-
