For the longest time, sometimes I'd be driving, and at some point when I hit a bump or something my envoy will just shut off. And now the problem has gotten worse, when I put my car in park while the engine is running, I turn the key and take it out of the ignition, and the car will not turn off. The engine keeps running, unless I tap the brake. I've called numerous GM dealers regarding the ignition recall, but they say my car does not fall under that. Any suggestions?

When the problem is ongoing, when the vehicle refuses to die with key off, check for voltage at the fuel injectors, pink wire. Also check primary voltage at ignition coil, pink. Both those circuits go hot with the ignition switch, also fuse protected. Check ignition switch connector, see if it appears burned or wires melted. If the problem is the ignition switch, you may have to just bite the bullet and pay to get it fixed. Or replace it yourself, if possible.

I realize that probable isn't what you wanted to hear? Maybe some of the others have better ideas?
