1st i would be driving and the truck would miss and then continue driving, but i was driving and heard a metal grinding noise and the truck died and now i cannot turn the engine from the harmonic balancer area and still i can push the truck in gear, could it be a timing chain?

The truck will not turn over with the ignition key

Check the battery condition and connections-if okay tap on the starter motor a few times if it cranks over-have the starter motor further check or replace it- won't crank check the starter, starter relay, transmission range sensor and ignition switch-

WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED

CAN YOU ROTATE THE ENGINE

A FULL REVOLUTION OR MORE BY HAND (MANUALLY W/ A WRENCH) WE ARE NOT TRYING TO UNSCREW THE BOLT!!!

AS I DEMONSTRATE WITH MY CJ 5 ENGINE?

IS IT A REAL STRAIN?

ROTATES RATHER EZily?

YOU DESCRIBE IT....ANY NOISES OR BINDING OTHER THAN COMPRESSION?

IF YOU REMOVE THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP, IS THE ROTOR BUTTON ROTATING SMOOTHLY AND NOT "JUMPY"?

YOUR TURN
