brake warning light won't go off

Check that the parking brake is fully released, and that the fluid level is above the "min" level. Don't get any hint of a grease or other petroleum product in the brake fluid when checking it, and don't fill it to the top. If the level is low, you either have a leak that must be addressed immediately or the front disc brake pads are worn and it's time for a brake system inspection.
