engine temp light

I have a F150 2002 4x4 truck v6 motor and the temp gauge is going up and the red light comes on.
she seems to loose her pull when this happens

You will have to get the cooling system pressure tested for any coolant leaks, check or replace the thermostat, flush the cooling system and have the radiator cleaned as you may have a few plugged core tubes, run a scan for any unresolved fault codes, start here.
