Hwy driving on cruise on level ground the rpm starts to fluctuate. the more I drove the worse it got. Got off hwy and car stalled at the light. Added injector cleaner to tank and w/i an hour the problem went away. A week later the same thing occurred again. Added cleaner to tank again and again the problem went away in about an hour. Now about a month later the same problem is back. RPM fluctuates on cruise and stalls at a stop light. I have already changed the fuel filter. Any ideas as to what is going on??

Since the cleaner is helping, that leads me to believe the problem is within the fuel system. In this case, I would start by checking fuel pump pressure to see if the pump is weak or if there is a problem with the pressure regulator. That is what I recommend first, unless the check engine light is on.

Check engine light is not on. But in the past winter there have been several times it did come on. After a while it would go off. Sometimes it would stay on for several days. When scanned the codes were always for a misfire.

That could be the result of a weak pump. Start there and let me know what you find.

Thanks. The check engine light came on this morning and the code that came up is p0300 random cylinder misfire. I will check the fuel pressure as soon as I can. Weather not cooperating right now.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. been real busy. Well, the fuel pressure is fine. turns out the TSP was badand just not bad enough to generate a code. Replaced it and all the symptoms went away. Thanks
