Hi...I have started to notice a strange noise coming from my Chyrsler Town and Country. It is a 2002 with a 3.3L Flex Fuel motor. It kinda sounds like a whine/humming sound mixed with a rattling sound. I had the serpentine belt replaced last week when it started to squeal and these sounds started a couple days later. When my dad changed the belt he spun the pulleys and said they all seemed good. My check engine light came on for a misfire in cyclinder 5 recently as well, which I have replaced plugs, whires, and an ignition coil for and it is hasn't stopped the missfire, so I don't know if the problems could be related or not. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

missfire could be an injector problem but if that vehicle has a distributor check the optical sensor for dirtyness and also those distributors are known to blow bearings which may be the noise.

Thanks for your help. I just wanted to add that I notice the whine/humming sound the most, and it seems the loudest, as I push on the accelerator. I especially notice it as I am accelerating from a stop light or sign. I also noticed that as I accelerate my rpm's jump around...especially as the vehicle shifts. Could the problem be transmission related? Could it be a bad torque convertor or something...I have heard that transmission problems can cause these kinds of sounds? I checked my fluid level with my van warmed up and running and it was normal and looked normal in color. I am very perplexed by this.

Thanks!
