I push the "cancel" and "off" buttons and it goes off for a while. Then it happens again. After a while it stops until the next time I start it up again. It is not a consistent problem.

I would like to know if there is a way to turn off the cruise control feature.

the cruise control lever is bad. Either disconnect the lever at the base of the steering column. Or disconnect the servo under the hood.

just take to the parts store and ask them to show it to you. I'm sure they would disconnect it for you.

Hi,

If you want to simply disconnect the system, there is a vacuum control under the hood with a cable attached to it which runs to the throttle body. I attached a picture below of where the cable attaches to the throttle body and circled it.

Disconnect that cable from the throttle body and the cruise control will no longer work. Basically, you are disconnecting the linkage that ties the throttle and speed control circuit. Thus, is should not work. If something is still causing issues, please let me know.

Take care and let me know if you have other questions.
