Fuel light turns on and off

Has anyone experienced driving their vehicle and the fuel light turns on, then immediately turns off? When the light turns off it reads the fuel level accurately, but when it turns on the fuel gauge drops to empty. It turns on and off sporadically when i go over bumps and potholes, but also when driving normally. Any help in identifying the culprit and how i can fix it is much appreciated!

Good morning,

As far as your issue, I would check the connector on top of the tank where the fuel module is connected. It may be just a bad connection.

If the connection is good, it may be the sender unit itself in the tank. That will require the replacement of the fuel pump module.
