blend door actuator location?

It sounds like the blend door actuator for the mode is not working. Here is a guide to help you step by step with instructions in the diagrams below to show you how on your car. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

No I haven't done anything. Just discovered this issue as we just started getting very cold weather. Tring to find out if there is an easy fix or if I need to take it to a mechanic. Is the cabin filter easy to replace. Thank you so much for your input.

Removal (2001-2006) NOTE:Numbers in parenthesis refer to numbers in figures. Open the instrument panel compartment door. Remove the rear inside instrument panel compartment door. Pull out and remove the right hand compartment air filter. See Fig. 1. Slide the left hand passenger compartment air filter to the opening. Pull out and remove the remaining passenger compartment air filter.

Installation (2001-2006) Install the left hand passenger compartment air filter into the opening. Slide the left hand passenger compartment air filter over. See Fig. 1. Install the right hand passenger compartment air filter directly into the opening. Close the HVAC module assembly access door (1). See Fig. 2. Install the rear inside instrument panel compartment door. Close the instrument panel compartment door.

Hello Dr. Loot, I have a '97 Venture with the same issue & I have replaced the cabin filters & still have the same issue. On my way home from work tonight I did hear a "thud", I assume the air door closed & then I had good heat & defrost. I would like to look at/replace the door accuator, where is it located? Thanks

VACUUM ACTUATOR MODE VALVES
Removal & Installation (Front A/C Bi-Level Mode Valve)
Remove left side instrument panel sound insulator. Remove steering column instrument panel filler. Cut tie strap located on back side of mode valve vacuum actuator. Disconnect vacuum lines. Unsnap case joint and remove mode valve. See Fig. 6 . To install, reverse removal procedure. Replace tie strap located on back side of mode valve vacuum actuator.
Removal & Installation (Front Defroster/Heater Mode Valve)
Remove glove box. Disconnect mode valve vacuum lines. Unsnap case joint and remove mode valve. See Fig. 6 . To install, reverse removal procedure.
Removal & Installation (Rear Valve)
Remove left rear side quarter trim panel. Disconnect rear valve vacuum line. Remove rear valve vacuum actuator. negative battery cable. To install, reverse removal procedure.

I got heat and A/C from my rear controls, but in the front I don't. It comes on once in a while, its inconsistent. Once in a blue moon the heat actually comes on in the front, but 95% of the time it blows Cold air.

I was wondering if you could tell me which actuator ( I have 3 below the dash and the other one is on the passenger side in front of the dash on the right hand side by the glass windshield ) controls the heat / cold flow to the front panels. I think its not working properly thus giving me cold air only in the front vents.
