Cracked head on my 2002 Chevy Avalanche. Been in the shop for 2 weeks. Mechanic said they just got the heads back from the machine shop. Why would they send new heads to the machine shop?
I took the vehicle in for repairs after I thought the head gaskets went bad. Upon inspection the dealer told me it was a cracked head, referencing a TSB.
I was shown the cracked head and told them to get new ones. Now almost 2 weeks later I am being told that they won't have it done for a couple more days because they just got the new heads back from the machine shop. Why would they machine new heads?
