excelerate problem

hi my 2002 buick regal sometimes when taking off or when the car goes over 3000 rmp the car raves up and does not excelerate but makes a grinding noise that almost sound like the break is going bad or a bad bearing

If it revs and doesn't accellerate, it sounds related to the transmission. Make sure the fluid is clean and full. If the check engine light has come on, have the computer scanned to identify trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free. Finally, have a trans tech rind in the car with you to confirm my theory.
