my car would constantly die?

2002 Acura RSX-S with 60,000 mi. This morning I started up my car, drove out of my driveway and got to a stop sign not more than 20 yards from where I parked and my car died. I tried starting it back up but I had to give it gas for it to get started. After that it wouldn't idle. The RPM's would go back down to zero and my car would die. Unless I kept my foot on the gas my car would constantly die every time I started up my car. My trans. light turns on when I keep the car going and that is the only service light that appears. Please Help!
