2001 Volkswagen Passat Door won't open

When I use the key to unlock my car, all the doors unlock but the driver's door won't open. I see the lock come up but no matter how many times I pull on the door handle, it doesn't open. I have to reach in through the back door and use the interior door handle to open it. I live in Florida so nothing about something being frozen applies to me.

I just need to ask for the record did you lock your keys in your car and a tow truck had to come and Slim Jim your door?, or maybe somebody try to break into your car with a Slim Jim and could have damaged the door mechanism. when you manually operate the door lock does it feel stiff? or dose it feel normal like the other doors? I can sing you the instructions on how to take the door part if you want to try that, but what I would do is spray some lubrication in the handle in the door lock down the lock knob.
