could no automatic transmission fluid cause the revs to drop and the car to stall when i slow down

had the egr replaced and the battery replaced on my auto 1.4 corsa due to car keeping cutting out the only other thing the garage have found was no fluid/oil in the gear box , it drives for about a mile before it cuts out usually when im slowing down
