Recently my 01 Tacoma started taking a few cranks to start, so I took it into the shop for a Diagnostics test, and they said it was the battery, said the Alternator was okay, and I figured the diagnostic test would have included the starter?? so they put in a new battery. Well, quess what, it didn't work. Has anyone else had this happen?

Taking a few cranks to start has nothing to do with starter or battery since you were able to crank.

Check the fuel pressure.
