A couple days ago I was driving through a parking lot and drove over a speed bump. I heard a scraping noise and looked underneath my car and seen a hanging bar. Nothing is leaking but I don't know what that bar is or where it would go to seeing as it looks like it should be connected somewhere. My car drives as it did before but I'm worried it might be something I should be concerned about.

Could it be an exhaust hanger? Can you upload a picture for me to see?

That is a body support and should be repaired. It looks like the bolt is missing. If that is the case, you just need to replace the bolt and secure the support. If the bolt is broken off in the floor pan, then you will need to have it drilled out and rethreaded.

Thanks for your help :) It's currently not affecting the car in anyway and I don't hear anything rattling either so would it be okay to let it go for a while?

To be honest, I don't think it would hurt. However, it is such a simple fix, I would rather see you do it sooner than later.
