is the passenger side axel seal for the transmision an inside or outside seal?

my transmision is leaking from the passenger side axel seal and i intend on replacing this my self if the transmision does not need to be taken apart if it does i want to take it to a proffesional.

Just to add to this one auto or manual there still outside seals.Another tip is you can use a female pvc pipe fitting to make a seal installer works great a couple of bucks at home depot.You can do it yourself.

i just want to do an ametuar professional job i am still learning and would like to lear the right way all i really need is if i have to take apart the tranny to do the job if i dont ill be able to do the job myself

No need to take the tarnsmission apart to replace the seal you can do it yourself.You have to drain the transmission fluid to replace it.Also replace the spin on transmission filter.
