I have an '01 9-3 base hatchback with an auto tranny & 173K that stalls when it's shifted from reverse to drive. Only when it's shifted from reverse to drive, not park to drive, reverse to park, drive to reverse or any other shifting combo. It will also shutter then stall when braking after coming to a complete stop. This happens more often when cold or in stop & go traffic. It can be remedied by adding a small amount of tranny fluid, but it only lasts for a few days at most. Adding the tranny fluid doesn't fix the shifting & stalling problem. The stalling screams vacuum leak to me, but I've checked everything & I can't find one. It does have a small oil leak that I can't for the life of me find where it's coming from. I can do a good amount of work myself & I'm crossing my fingers this is something I can do since my "local" Saab dealers are at least an hour & a half away & none of the local mechanics seem to want to touch a Saab. Thanks in advance for any info!
