Key stuck in ignition

Have you tried lubericating the tumbler? It may help.

I guess the expert here doesn't know about the solenoid that fails on the shifter. You need to check to see if there is power in and out of the solenoid at the shifter. If there is power in but not out the shifter will have to be replaced

It is definately the solenoid. Thanks for the help.. We also discovered that there was a by-pass under the cap on the bottom side of the steering colum that our daughter is going to use when necessary until she can get it home for me to rplace it. Thanks again for the help..
