coolant light

2001 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX

The coolant light is on and I don't know why. I added coolant and it goes off temperarily and then comes back on. After driving a little it may go off but next day is back on again. What could be wrong?

Get the cooling system pressure tested,you may have a minor leak, this will be the best way to help locate it, start here.

Thanks Mark! I will definately check on the cooling system pressure. I wanted to go home for Christmas and its 500 miles and I was afraid to try it. Thanks for your input. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
