2001 Opel Corsa replacing timing belt

I would like to know how to replace the timing belt on this vehicle and how to align the gears to the correct position?
The belt has snapped, could there be damage to the engine and if so how do I determine the extent?

hat engine is not supposed to be damaged by a broken timing belt. if you didn't hear any loud thunk when it broke you should be fine. there are timing marks on each pulley and on the motor behind each pulley. the belt will also have marks and it has a certain way it faces when it goes on. there should be an arrow on the belt face that shows which side should face out IF it has a certain way to go.
