starts to rev up?

My 2001 Nissan Maxima, when I drive it starts to rev up (goes faster) and I'll have to turn it off and then turn it back on so that'll it would run normal again. What's the problem?

I've tried changing the transmission oil.

If the check engine light is on, have the computer scanned. Check to make sure fuel pressure is within spec.
