2001 Nissan Maxima Alternator/ AC drive belt

Im trying to replace the belt but it is too big. It is the belt that is supposed to fit the car. Is that a special way to install the belt so that it will fit/

Ok so it looks like from this diagram, you have 2 drive belts. Make sure that you are routing the belt that you are replacing the proper way. If that doesn't work, then the drive belt is most likely the wrong one. I would make sure wherever you got the belt from is plugging in the proper specs for your vehicle correctly and make sure that the belt wasn't packaged wrong. Best way to tell if its the proper belt is to remove the belt that was installed, and hold both the old and the new belt in your hands together and make sure they are the same length. Let me know what you find.
