I would like to know what type of transmission fluid should be used for my Cedric 2001. I couldn't find any label or description of the type of Transmission fluid in my car. I don't even understand the description of fluid type in owner's manual because all are in Japanese.
Recently my mechanic asked me to change the auto fluid because condition of current fluid is getting poor. My car transmission type is 4AT.

Thanks in advance for your kind answer on my question.

Eagerly looking forward your soonest reply..

Hello, I'm Danny.

The best way to tell would to look on the actual dipstick handle. There will be a letter denoting what type of transmission fluid to be used. Look for a J, K, S, or D. Get back to us with which letter you find and we'll tell you what type of transmission fluid your car requires. Here is what AllData calls for

Fluid Types
Automatic Transmission Fluid Type

USA & Alaska .................... Nissan Matic "D"

Canada .................... Genuine Nissan ATF

Capacities
Automatic Transmission Fluid .................... 9.46L (10.0 Qt US)

This guide will help you change or add fluid.
